There is current a vancy for a representative for Norfolk. In addition we will need a Cambridgeshire representative from April 2009. We shall also need to replace our Secretary and Treasurer in 2010 ass they will have come to the end of their permitted term of office. For all these posts we would like to find replacements who would be willing to be co-opted to the committee as soon as possible in order to become familiar with the work before taking over later. We are keen to hear from anyone within the region who has the skills to offer to fill these posts. Making Music has job descriptions for the officers which we can provide on request or for a more informal preliminary enquiry please contact, Chairman, Marian Davidson or the current post holders.
The Making Music regional committee has a major role in determining strategy for the future of the organisation within the region. It advises the national organisation and works collaboratively with the paid Development Officer to support member groups, provide advice and development opportunities and run funded projects to provide practical support to members.
It is very worthwhile to be a member of this committee and the jobs are interesting which probably why the existing members have particpated for such a long time. We know that as representatives of your organisation you will already be very busy but please consider wehter you or other members of your group could extend your view of music making to encompass the region, and volunteer to join us.
